UX & UI Design Case Study Mobile App

GiveAway is a mobile application designed to connect readers through a community driven book exchange system. Users can discover books nearby, list books they no longer need, and earn points that can be redeemed for books shared by other members.

As the UX/UI Designer, I designed the complete user experience from onboarding and book listing to requesting, messaging, and exchange confirmation. The project focused on creating a seamless and trustworthy platform that encourages participation while making book sharing accessible and rewarding.


Problem Statement

Many readers own books they have already finished but have limited options for passing them on to others. At the same time, many people are looking for affordable access to new books without purchasing them. The challenge was to design a trusted platform that enables readers to exchange books safely and efficiently while maintaining a fair and engaging experience for both parties.

Solutions

The solution introduced a points based exchange system where users earn points by listing books and redeem them when requesting books from other members.

To build trust between users, the platform incorporates profile verification, community ratings, secure messaging, and a structured response process. Additional protection mechanisms ensure points are automatically returned when an exchange cannot be completed.

By combining incentives, transparency, and communication tools, the experience encourages community participation while reducing friction throughout the exchange journey.
